Build Quality:
This keyboard has a great build quality*, with a plastic frame and an aluminum back panel, with aluminum accents where the knobs and screen are. The plastic does not feel cheap, and the aluminum is high quality. It would have been better if the whole body was aluminum, but this is personal preference*. 9/10
Keycaps:
These optical keycaps require very light pressure to register, making them cause less strain on your hands. They are very good for games that require fast/repetitive responses. This keyboard also has “N Key Rollover”, meaning you can press lots of keycaps at once and they will still register. I used to use mechanical black linear switches, and comparing that to these optical switches, there is a night and day difference*. 10/10
Keycaps:
The keycaps have a matte finish with a nice* light texture on top. This makes them feel very nice when used*. The keycaps consist of two layers, and inner layer, and an outer layer. Although, the Daybreak version keycaps do not have shine-through. Meaning the letters do not allow the RGB light to pass through. 8.5/10
Design:
This keyboard has a small screen in the corner, with two programmable knobs. the escape key on the Daybreak has a unique* design, with 20% of the key being taller than the other section. The accents also look very nice*, with white inner keys, and black outer keys. Some special keys, such as enter, escape, and the arrow keys are red. But, the keyboard comes with black variants of the red keys so you can adjust to your preference. The charging port is located on the left side of the keyboard, if this matters to you. 9/10
Features, RGB, and drivers:
This keyboard has multiple RGB options, that can be customized in the drivers (will explain later). The knobs are also customizable in the drivers, but the base options of volume control and keyboard brightness work well for me*. In my opinion, the RGB doesn’t look good with the non-shine through keycaps, but looks better with shine through*. The brightness isn’t overly bright, but is not dim. However, I could not get the drivers to work. Skyloong does not have an Apple Silicon version of the drivers, and even if it’s run on Intel MacBooks, Apple states they can not verify the file is secure, therefore won’t open it. What about a virtual machine? I have not verified that it runs on a virtual matching, but because this is not tailored to Apple Silicone systems, I estimate it will not run*. 6/10
In Conclusion:
Very nice build quality, keycaps and key switches are nice, fast, and responsive to use, the design is well thought out, the RGB has many options and is decently bright, but the driver is VERY confusing and does not work on modern day MacBooks. (Tested on multiple computers).
Overall, 9/10.
