The GK87 Pro made a strong first impression. The red & white combination looks premium, and the matching red accessories were a nice touch. The Skyloong support team was patient and extremely responsive during my customs issues (I used nick name instead of actual name), which I genuinely appreciate.
What I liked :
—
Beautiful red + white colour combo
Solid build quality
Great typing feel
Customisation options are strong
Skyloong team helped with all customs documents quickly
They included the extra accessory for free to save me another order and shipping.
Fast shipping from Hong Kong even on the free shipping option.
What needs improvement :
—
Finding the correct software took too long, links should be directly on the product/model page on the website
The screen doesn’t connect properly to the PC software (still not working for me)
GIF on the screen does not loop : BIGGEST DRAWBACK
Screen software overall feels incomplete, especially since the screen was the main reason I imported this and paid custom duty rather than buying mechanical keyboards that are cheap and available in India
Overall
Great keyboard, excellent support team, but the screen software needs serious improvement to match the potential of the hardware.
This keyboard is masterpiece in case of quality, price and a lot of unique features. Some of features like hot-swappable lcd screen and knobs you will never find in any of represented on global market.
I call this keyboard “spartan weapon” because it has brutal look and style, I very respect this brave and not common design, huge weight (like a small brick or stone), detachable sharp metal “knife” from back and each corner of this keyboard has sharp edges! Awesome! Not recommend for childrens but peoples who like soft edges design try to check GK104Pro (no sharp edges, not aggressive office design).
I use this keyboard almost a month, but has no any bad surprises. I can remember in my mind is strange hardware memory layers maybe and strange micro-deformation which can be fixed with hands by moving opposite site of deformation so it became normal again (maybe 1 degree, not big deal because can be fixed), so try be careful when you wear it in backpack, but no issues on the table.
My personal Skyloong collection which I am very proud:
GK75HE, GK78Pro and GK68MIX (TMR coming soon)
And I hope this collection will grow with some new Skyloong keyboards. Keep me in touch.
My girl and I love our GK104 Pro and GK87 Pro keyboards. We love the thocky sound and the fun that the customizable screen allows us to have.
Just beware, as many other reviews have mentioned, the software is worst in its class, but the keyboard is worth it if you can slug through using the software. I have recommended it to a lot of my friends and coworkers already.
I have quite a collection of keyboards, but I’ve never had anything similar to this one. Sure the screen is nice, cute even, but the keeb itself is a beast. Amazing gasket, the silent switch is out of this world, the colors, the possibilities. Skyloong outdid themselves this time, amazing keyboard all around.
